state Missouri diagnoses autism age when starting cannabis 15 years old qualifying condition non-legal state |
Wow it's been 18 years of the most incredible journey a roller coaster of highs and unimaginable lows. Dalton was 2 when he was diagnosed with severe autism. At Children's Mercy in Oakland, CA. A team of doctors spent a few hours with him and gave us his diagnosis like they were telling us he was about to die. I stood up and said " you act like this is a death sentence, well it's not and who are you to say his reality is not better than ours. We will be just fine!" The next five years I learned as much as I could with this new thing called the Internet. I had learned about vaccines and Mercury DAN ( diet and nutrition) gluten the list goes on and on just like the meds the doctors were prescribing. One lead to another and another each one with a side effect that was worse than the one before. Not really sure if each drug worked or we just wanted it to work so we trusted the so called doctors advice and every time it was the same thing. Worked for a week or two then the behaviors would get worse. The very last perscription was riddellen. It looked like a scene from the EXORCIST !! I was sent a video of some parents who were having success with cannabis. And a good friend who had access to MMJ sent us some. I never thought in a million years I would try it but we had no other choice. I asked his pedestrian and he agreed. That was 5 years ago, not only has it worked but it still works EVERY SINGLE TIME. He can be in full meltdown and take a cannabis infused candy , and with in 15 min be as calm and quiet (not stoned just content. I would use the word "normal" but us parents of special needs hate that word.
